COVID-19 Pandemic Has Seen 9 Million Americans Move Since It Began

The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the way we work and live—and, for many Americans, that includes a change of location.

According to a recent article from the National Association of REALTORS®, 8.93 million Americans relocated between March 2020 (the beginning of the pandemic) and October 2020—nearly 94,000 more people than that same time period in 2019.

While there are many reasons behind people’s decisions to move, one of the major factors driving relocations in 2020 is the ability to work remotely. One in three Americans has transitioned to part or full-time remote work during the pandemic—giving them greater flexibility in where they choose to live.

The Takeaway:

So, what does this mean for you? More people relocating means more buyers on the market—so if you’ve been thinking about selling your home (or relocating yourself!), now is a great time to make a move.
